Born in London and educated at Haberdashers’ Aske’s School before graduating in Medicine from University College London, Professor Raj Nigam completed his basic surgical training at University College and Middlesex Hospitals, with an MD thesis on cancer metastasis. He held registrar positions at St Mary’s, St Bartholomew’s and the Royal London Hospitals, and was appointed Consultant Urological Surgeon to the Royal Surrey County Hospital (2000) and the Institute of Urology at UCL Hospitals (2009). He has extensive NHS experience in general urology, andrology and urological oncology, including as Clinical Director of Urology at the Royal Surrey.
