Confidentiality: everything spoken about within a consultation stays strictly between him and his patient. Exceptions to this rule include: if the information shared indicates someone else is in danger, or if the patient lacks capacity or has a severe mental illness clouding their judgement.
Clarity: education is a key part of his consultations and he will work with you to improve your understanding of your medical conditions, what your medicines are for and what the future might look like.
Respect: Dr Tawfik believes that treating all patients and staff with respect is a must for any doctor. We all make lifestyle decisions, and these decisions may lead to ill health. His role is not to judge, but to advise you what could be contributing to your ill health and how things could get better.
Transparency: all prices for the GP service are clear to see in the GP section of the website. There are no hidden costs, and after a consultation, any further tests or recommendations will be itemised and priced so you can make an informed decision to go forward with them or not.
If you are otherwise fit and well and want to have a medical check up, then this is the most appropriate service.
A full check up includes:
Initial consultation to discuss health issues including full examination
1. Well-man and well-woman blood tests
2. Urine analysis
3. Electrocardiogram – an electrical trace of the heart
4. Spirometry – a test of lung function
5. Mammogram (for breast cancer screening)
6. Faecal occult blood test (for bowel cancer screening)
7. Sexual health screening.
The Harley Street Hospital offers personalised home visits. These are carried out by our GP Dr Tawfik.
If you have a medical issue and would like Dr Tawfik to visit you or a member of your family at home, then this service is most appropriate.
He will see you with the necessary medical equipment at hand to perform detailed medical assessments in the comfort of your own home.
Certain examinations or investigations may not be possible; however, and if you are very unwell, an ambulance and assessment in hospital might be the right thing for you.
This service runs from 10am-10pm, Monday to Saturday, subject to Dr Tawfik’s availability.

Having a GP is important for coordinating and optimising your health care. Several issues can be dealt with by a GP with a breadth of knowledge, which can save you money, time and effort.
When specialist input is required, your GP will make targeted referrals to trusted colleagues or a specialist of your choice. After seeing a specialist, consultation reports can be sent back to your GP so that he or she has a clear and up-to-date view of your medical history. This will prevent unnecessary duplication of tests and clashes in any medications you are taking.
Above all, the purpose of a GP is to be a doctor you and your family can build a relationship with; someone you can trust and confide in.
